Before you buy a Long Island Home, review
this site. Information

Island homebuyers, Long Island home sellers, Long Island real estate
agents and attorneys as part of evaluating and inspecting Long Island

Should I use any Real Estate Agents
recommended or suggested professionals?
·
Home Inspection Engineer - Absolutely not
·
Lawyer -
Absolutely not
Real Estate Agents recommend people that will not hurt
the potential sale of a house.
Engineer. The engineer must work for you
and must not be concerned about future referrals from RE Agents. The Engineer will inspect the
structure and the Electro-Mechanics of the home to make sure you
understand all apparent problems that may exist with a house. Also, the engineer must
provide repair cost estimates for defects. Please note Engineers that are passionate about
their work are not recommended by RE Agents. More on choosing a Home Inspection Engineer can be
found elsewhere on this website.
Attorney. You must use a
true Long Island “Real Estate” Attorney. We strongly recommend that you do not use a family
member or a friend that is a jack-of-all-trade attorney. A good Real Estate attorney:
·
Is well versed on the Real Estate
purchase process and laws
·
Will make sure all your concerns are
listed in the contract
·
Will know the differences between
what is important and not.
·
Will tell you to walk away from the
property if they feel the seller side is not cooperating or being unfair.
Once the home purchase contract is
signed there is little or no recourse. We have heard many homebuyers say that their attorneys
have done little to advice or protect them during the home purchase
process. If you are looking
for an excellent Long Island Real Estate Attorney we suggest you give
Gary Burke, ESQ a call at 631-249-3978
In Conclusion. The RE Agent
does not work for you. The
job of a Real Estate agent is to sell a house for their customer (the
home seller). Real Estate
agents get paid from the seller for selling their homes. Sellers
typically pay Real Estate Agents between 4% to 6% commission to have
their house sold. So there
is a lot of incentive for a Real Estate agent to make sure the sale of a
house goes smoothly for them.
Before a Long Island Real Agent can show you homes, by
NY law, the RE Agent must have you sign a document stating “that you
understand that the Real Estate Agent work for the home seller”
